Homeowners can take advantage of a federal tax credit that covers up to 30% of the cost of spray foam insulation materials, with a maximum annual credit of $1,200. The overall energy efficiency credit is capped at $3,200 annually, which can also include other improvements like windows, doors, and HVAC systems.  Owners or designers of commercial buildings can claim deductions of up to $1.80 per square foot if they achieve a 50% reduction in energy usage through improvements like spray foam insulation.
